KNOWLEDGE BOWL DETAILS
ARE ANNOUNCED

The 2019 Knowledge Bowl will take place on Friday, February 22 at the Victoria College Student Center.  This is the 26th annual event that is put on by the Victoria Literacy Council in partnership with the Rotary Clubs of Victoria.  The Victoria Literacy Council needs Rotarians to man workstations and a volunteer sign up has been posted on our website.  Additionally, if you have friends that enjoy competition and winning for bragging rights, a team registration form is available on our website under downloadable documents.

The volunteers are invited to come at 5:00pm and enjoy a 6-inch Subway sandwich and beverage at the Student Center.  The program begins at 6:00pm and ends at approximately 9:00pm.  It is a great opportunity to socialize with your fellow Rotarians from the other clubs.  The volunteer positions include:  Marshall--this position helps to show the contestants to their tables and monitor throughout the event
(5 people needed); Runners--this position picks up the completed answer sheets from each team and delivers it to the judging room (5 people needed); Judges--this position reviews, scores and tallies the answer sheet (20 needed).

This is an easy, interesting and fun night out.  Mark your calendar and sign up, if you can help.
The next knighting ceremonies of this school year will take in early February.  This is an event to make you feel joyous and hopeful that our youth will grow into responsible adults that understand and live by the 4-Way Test.  Plan to attend one ceremony. You will need to check in as a Rotarian at the Principal’s office and will be directed to the auditorium. It is divided into two groups with the youngest going first and the older kids immediately following.  You can attend both or even just a portion.  The entire program takes around 2 to 2-1/2 hours.

Please let let me know if you attend...this does count as a makeup.
