VPD Community Engagement

John Turner is a 35-year veteran of the Victoria Police Department. His assignments have included Patrol, S.W.A.T., Warrant Officer, and School Resource Officer. He is now a Certified Crime Prevention Specialist assigned to the Community Engagement Unit offering personal safety training to the public that includes Crime Prevention in Action, burglary prevention, Rape Aggression Defense, and Civilian Response to Active Attacker Events. He also coordinates the Civilian Police Academy, National Night Out, and various programs throughout the year such as the monthly lunch and learn.
